Teeth whitening

Coffee, tea, red wine, smoking or simply time make teeth look darker. Professional whitening can lighten them visibly, safely, because we first check that your teeth and gums are healthy enough.

01

Check first, then whiten

Before any whitening we examine teeth and fillings and do a professional cleaning. Good to know: fillings and crowns do not lighten. We take this into account.

02

In the practice or at home

For in-office whitening we apply a whitening gel while carefully protecting the gums. For home whitening we make custom trays that you wear at home with a milder gel for a few days.

03

How long does the result last?

That depends on your habits. Many patients are happy for several years; a short touch-up is possible at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Does whitening damage teeth?

Under dental supervision and with suitable products it is considered gentle. Temporary sensitivity is possible and usually subsides quickly.

Why not just a drugstore product?

Over-the-counter products are weak and used without supervision. With undetected decay or leaking fillings this can cause problems.

Who should not have whitening?

We advise against it during pregnancy and breastfeeding and for teenagers.

This information does not replace a personal consultation. We will discuss together in the practice which treatment is right for you.
