Laser dentistry with the Fotona LightWalker

The Fotona LightWalker is one of the most versatile lasers in dentistry. It combines two wavelengths (Er:YAG and Nd:YAG) and allows treatments that are precise, gentle on tissue and considerably more comfortable for many patients.

01

What we use the laser for

Removing decay and preparing cavities, gum disease therapy, disinfecting root canals, treating inflammation around implants, minor gum surgery, treating mouth ulcers and cold sores, and NightLase snoring therapy.

02

What this means for you

The laser works with little contact and without the typical vibration of a drill. Depending on the findings you need less or no anaesthesia. At the same time the laser light reduces bacteria, and soft-tissue procedures bleed less, which can support healing.

03

To be honest

The laser is not a cure-all. Large fillings, crowns or root canal treatments still need conventional instruments. The laser complements them. We tell you openly where it helps and where it does not.

How the treatment works

Frequently asked questions

Is laser treatment safe?

Yes. Our team is trained and everyone in the room wears protective glasses. We set the laser power precisely for each treatment.

Is the laser suitable for children?

Very much so, precisely because there is no drilling noise and often less anaesthesia is needed.

Does insurance pay?

Laser use is usually a private additional service. We discuss the costs with you beforehand.

This information does not replace a personal consultation. We will discuss together in the practice which treatment is right for you.
